Is my track ready for labels?
Updated
A track is label ready when the arrangement is DJ friendly, the mixdown translates on club systems, the master is competitive without crushing the dynamics, and it clearly fits the sound of the labels you target. The fastest way to know is a review from a producer who releases in your genre, before you send the demo.
What do labels listen for in a demo?
- A strong first 30 seconds. A&Rs skip fast. The track has to make its point early.
- Genre fit. It sounds like it belongs next to the label's recent releases.
- DJ friendly arrangement. Mixable intro and outro, phrased in 8 and 16 bars.
- Clean low end. Kick and bass that translate on a club system.
- Finished sound. No placeholder sounds or unfinished sections.
What should I fix before I submit?
The most common reasons demos get passed on are a weak or long intro, low end problems, and a track that sits between genres. A reviewer who releases in your genre spots these quickly and tells you what to fix first.
On Tracklounge, choose release readiness and genre fit as focus areas and name the labels you are aiming for. The review then compares your track with that sound.
Does LabelRadar give feedback?
Labels on LabelRadar can add a short reason when they pass, but it is optional and brief. Use detailed feedback before you submit, so the version labels hear is your best one.
